Woke Wars: The Acolyte VS the Tradition of Star Wars

Legit criticism of The Acolyte, there is. But perhaps biased, the outrage is.

Anger and hatred aren’t just the final two steps toward the darkside, they’re creating a darkside nexus around The Acolyte. And the rebellion that oft flares up with disgruntled fans these days has become an all out war against the Disney empire that makes all things Star Wars.

Anger and hatred can also trend and earn money.

But is it that bad? Is it worthy of a stormtrooper firing squad or being cut down by a sith lord? Or unceremoniously being force pushed off a ledge before the battle can begin?

I was looking forward to The Acolyte with quietly reserved baited impatience. Of course, I’m a practical fan — the show could suck. Or, it could be one of the ones that grows on me (i.e., Solo).

After the initial two episodes, all I could muster was mild interest. Maybe I just picked the wrong night/mood to watch. I’d just started Breath of the Wild with my kiddo and had that dopamine fix coursing through me. Maybe2 The Acolyte just isn’t my brand of sci-fi fantasy. I’m not too proud to admit that I may be out of touch and the story isn’t bad bad, just my perception of it.
